Hey there! I’m Carmen.
I’m a homeschooling mother of five who desires to help other moms remember their purpose and worth. I enjoy creativity, whether that be designing educational activities for kids, decorating the schoolroom, or composing valuable resources for hardworking mothers like you. Most importantly, I can’t help but share how the Lord turned my broken life around.
How did Joyous Wonder get started?
When I was a new mother, I intended to cultivate an atmosphere of playful discovery in our home for our children. During pregnancy, I would dream of offering a childhood that I’ve always wanted. We all want what is best for our children and desire to give them the world.
However, somewhere along the way, life happened. Over time, I felt like I was falling short of meeting that dream. I realized that the heaviness of this world was quick to choke out the childlike awe in me. Responsibilities, overwhelm, and life’s obstacles would regularly consume my ability to see what was most important. But it didn’t have to!
Every second is so precious. We often take time for granted. All the while knowing that the babies don’t stay little forever and that tomorrow is never promised. I believe that we as mothers aspire to connect and foster those family dynamics. But why is it such a struggle to remain focused on what is essential?
Have you ever felt this way?
Did you know that scripture warns us about these oppressive feelings? Jesus talked about the seed choked out by the cares of this world. Peter 5:7-8 tells us to cast all our cares on the Lord because He cares for us and to be alert of our adversary, who prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking whom to devour. Scripture encourages us to guard our hearts.
Joyous Wonder was born out of my own need for encouragement, support, and simple reminders to enjoy the miraculous moments that happen each day. Here I share the reminders and reassurance that I needed to hear as a new mother.
Encouragement, wellness, and home education are my focused foundational supports. I believe these three focuses are interconnected and directly influence our mental, physical, and spiritual health. I hope to inspire mothers to keep their health and wellness a priority. Which then, influences a healthy home where the shaping of character, wonder, and belief systems for our littles can thrive.
I’d love to hear from you!
