Did you know that there are several ways you can save on Teachers Pay Teachers (TpT)? Here are some wonderful tips that will help you find deals, shop smart, and earn Teachers Pay Teachers Store Credit.

1. Shop the Sales When You Can Wait
There are 3 different types of sales on Teachers Pay Teachers. Yes, THREE! Let’s talk about the difference between each of them.
Site Wide Sale : A site wide sale is when Teachers Pay Teachers work with participating TpT Sellers to provide a collective discount.
Participating TpT Sellers choose to offer a discount up to 20% off any product they chose. I, like most sellers, choose to set my entire shop at the full 20% off each site wide sale. Then, TpT offers an additional 5% off (up to a total of 25% off). To receive this discount, shoppers enter a sale promo code (that is shown on the top of every TpT page during the sale) at Checkout.

Each year TpT has about 4-5 Site Wide Sales. Teachers Pay Teachers announces these sales on their site at random each year.
Hashtag Sale : When a specific hashtag is entered into the Teachers Pay Teachers search bar. These hashtag sales are hosted by a group of collaborating sellers who team together to create a thematic sale (holidays, dollar deals, etc.).

An Individual Shop Sale : Sometimes individual sellers discount their store or items when celebrating a specific milestone. This might include a certain amount of followers, personal celebrations, or a growing bundle. You can be emailed updates of sales from specific store that you follow on TpT by adjusting your email preferences here.

Discounted Bundle : This is technically not a sale. However, it is a great way to save! If you know you are looking for a comprehensive lesson or curriculum, get the bundle. The larger the bundle, [typically] the larger the discount. You’re welcome!
2. Enter in Giveaways
There are a ton of teacher giveaways on social media. A lot of those giveaways include Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards!
You can search hashtags such as #teachergiveaways, #teachersgiveaway, or #tptgiveaway on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter to find out more about them. There are also giveaway accounts just for teachers such as this one.
3. Check Social Media Frequently
To find all the latest and best sales and giveaways you will want to stay in touch on social media. It is the best way to stay updated.
Follow TpT Sellers on Facebook, Instagram, and/or Twitter. You can search hashtags such as #TpT, #TpTer #TeachersPayTeachers or #iteach[grade level] to find more educators and TpT Sellers on social media.
Follow Love, Teach, and Learn on Facebook and Instagram. That is where I announce all the surprise sales or giveaways that I participate in.
4. Carefully Shop
Don’t make the mistake of having to purchase supplements multiple times because your first (or second) purchase didn’t fit your needs. When you shop on Teachers Pay Teachers know that each shop will vary in the clarity of description and preview of the resource before you are able to purchase.
Before purchasing you will want to thoroughly read the description as well as check out all the previews and thumbnails. The description should explicitly say what is inside the file : How many pages there are, what kind of pages, any other details like whether there is a color color option, etc.

An ideal preview will give you an idea of what the product contains. It most likely will not show each page of the resource. That can be difficult for a large or multiple file resource. However you can get a feel of the design, quality, and thoroughness from the preview.
The quality, style, and design of resources will also vary from shop to shop. For example, I create with a clean, professional design design. I do like a bit of whimsical art, but I am very selective in where I use clipart and images. I do not like to overcrowd my design with cutesy clipart. That is just a personal preference. I am certain that you can find a shop that will meet your needs and your style.
